QR Codes Claude AI and another idea

So it looks like the Bamboo feeder class had the start of QR code reading for parts.
I’ve tried my hand at getting scripts to read QR codes with Claude AI but it seems the OCR isn’t really great and the QR code location is a little high in Z to the point that it’s out of focus.

More robust OCR libraries seem to be able to process this fine but till I figure out how to outsource the OCR process outside of the traditional OCR tool I’m stuck.

Claude is absolutely fantastic for generating scripts for Openpnp. While the initial scripts will have errors it’s worked great at debugging issues and I already have some experimental scripts to help automate populating feeder banks.

I’ll report back if I get anything.

Another side project I’m looking at is some kind of click in part ‘cover’ that uses the same locating slots that the QR code 3d print. The idea is I want something that clips in to cover any exposed parts. Then when removing parts to swap in a different feeder you don’t have to worry about more expensive parts popping out or worse shifting to the wrong orientation without you realizing.
